Audio Recordings

When you use Quotid to practice memorization, we may collect audio recordings of your recitations. This audio is used to:

• Provide accurate transcription services
• Compare your recitation with the original text
• Give you precise feedback on your memorization

Transcription Data

We may send your audio recordings to transcription services to convert speech to text. We ensure these services do not keep any of your audio. The resulting transcriptions are used to:

• Analyze your recitation accuracy
• Identify specific mistakes and areas for improvement
• Provide detailed feedback on your performance

Text Processing

We may send transcription text to LLM-based text comparison services to:

• Compare your recitation with the original text
• Identify word-level differences, substitutions, and omissions
• Generate detailed feedback reports

We guarantee these third-party services retain no logs of your data.

Analytics and Usage Data

We use Mixpanel to understand how Quotid is used and diagnose problems. Events are associated with a persistent installation identifier and may include:

• App usage patterns and feature adoption
• Performance metrics and error reports
• Passage content, recognized transcripts, comparison results, manual corrections, and guidance targets

We also measure foreground practice time and recording time. Analytics events do not contain audio file contents, but recording and transcription services are described separately above.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively to:

• Provide the core memorization and feedback services
• Improve our app's accuracy and performance
• Debug technical issues and optimize user experience
• Understand general usage patterns to enhance our service

Data Retention and Storage

Audio and Transcription Data

Some audio recordings and transcriptions may be retained for:

• Training and enhancing our transcription accuracy
• Resolving technical issues and user support

However, this data is:

• Never published, sold, or distributed externally
• Never linked to your personal identity
• Stored securely and accessed only for legitimate business purposes

Analytics events are associated with an installation identifier and can be reviewed individually or aggregated. Passage content and transcripts may contain information you provide; these events should not be considered anonymous.
